The All-Star Cheer program is a competitive cheerleading sport that emphasizes teamwork, athleticism, and performance. It is designed for athletes of all ages and skill levels, ranging from beginners to advanced competitors, and is distinct from school-based or recreational cheer programs in its level of commitment, competition, and training.
-
Focus on Performance: Unlike traditional cheerleading, which typically supports sports teams, All-Star cheerleading is focused purely on the performance aspect of cheerleading. Teams perform highly choreographed routines that include stunts, tumbling, jumps, and dance.
-
Levels of Competition: All-Star cheerleaders compete at different levels, ranging from Level 1 (beginner) to Level 6 or higher (advanced). The routines include a mix of tumbling, stunts, pyramids, and choreography, with difficulty increasing at higher levels. MTG is in its inaugural year of All-Star and is currently competing Level 2. As our program grows we will work towards more levels in year two and so on.
- Team Structure: Teams are typically divided by age group and skill level, with divisions such as Mini, Youth, Junior, and Senior. Each team trains intensively and competes in various regional, national, and even international competition
-
Commitment: All-Star cheer requires a high level of commitment, with athletes training several times a week and attending competitions throughout the season. It encourages personal growth, teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
- Team practice: 2 hours twice a week plus a one hour Tumble class outside of team practice.
